Spirit of Boldness

"Be strong and brave. Don't be afraid of them. Don't be terrified because of them. The Lord your God will go with you. He will never leave you. He'll never desert you." (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIRV-ENG)

Be on your guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be brave. Be strong. Be loving in everything you do. (1 Corinthians 16:13, 14 NIRV-ENG)

So many times as Christians we are afraid to stand up for what is right. I have often wondered why we have allowed our world to become the way it is. Why have we tolerated so much? We, Christians, have allowed sin to come in and mold what we should be acting, thinking and doing. Instead of looking to God for what we should be like we have allowed others to dictate what we should be like.

It is time that we, as Christians, start standing up for what is right. We should be standing up and standing out for what God has called us to do. Our youth are being led astray by people who profess to be Christians and yet know nothing about the love or the fear of God. When I speak of a fear of God it is not a fear of "I have to be afraid" it's a fear of knowing that God Almighty could, if He chose to, extinguish your life in a second. It's a healthy fear of love and respect, something our children know nothing of.

My youngest son, Samuel, doesn't think anything about asking for a prayer for someone from anyone. He has a God-given spirit of boldness that he uses. I am amazed at how God uses this young man at times. Sam isn't afraid to stand up for what is right when he sees something wrong... Don't get me wrong he isn't perfect and he gets into his fair share of trouble but God has still put a spirit of boldness in him that a lot of "mature" Christians do not have.

My prayer today is not just for myself but for ALL Christians..

Dear God, I praise You. I thank You for all that You have done for me. Thank You for loving me and delivering me out of the hell that I was in and the one I was heading for. Thank You for my family and friends. Thank You for the Word that You have given to me. Thank You for being with me even when I didn't know it.

God, I pray that You would give each of us a spirit of boldness that surpasses anything we have ever known. I pray that we would stop tolerating those things that anger You and start standing up for what represents You. I pray that we, as a Christian nation, would find our way back to You and that we would quit allowing fakers to represent You and what You stand for. I pray that You would fill each Christian with a spiritual hunger and thirst to know You more so that each one of us would dig deeper into our Word and spend more time in prayer to know who You truly are.

God, I ask that You would allow us to see Your majesty in everything and in everyone around us. Give us Your eyes, Your hands, Your feet, Your heart for those around us. Fill us with Your compassion so that we could truly represent You but fill us also with Your truth, grace, love and boldness so that we could save those lost and dying around us.

God, I feel a desperate right now. There is an urgency like I have never known before. God I ask that You would keep Your hand on me and steer me where You would have me... Speak through me! Work through me! Everything I have and am is Yours...

In Jesus' mighty name... Amen.
