Be Careful Little Mouths What You Say

"O be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little eyes what you see
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little eyes what you see

O be careful little ears what you hear
O be careful little ears what you hear
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little ears what you hear

O be careful little hands what you do
O be careful little hands what you do
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little hands what you do

O be careful little feet where you go
O be careful little feet where you go
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little feet where you go

O be careful little mouth what you say
O be careful little mouth what you say
There's a Father up above
And He's looking down in love
So, be careful little mouth what you say"

Some of you may or may not have heard this song as a child. I had forgotten it until just a few years ago. This morning, while talking to God, and going through curses that I have heard spoken(and some i have even said myself) over my children and pleading the blood of Jesus against them, God reminded me again of how important it is for us to watch what we say, do, hear, see and where we go.

For a long time now I haven't watched certain shows because I know how they make me feel after watching them. I wont read certain books, or listen to certain types of music, for the same reason. It is my job to be careful with what goes into my spirit. Because what goes in, comes out. We've all heard "You are what you eat" well, if you are only feeding your spiritual man junk food, guess what your Spirit is going to start looking like?

I am now 40 years old and only now am I getting a full understanding of this song and putting two and two together. God used the lyrics of this song to teach me something very important.

There is SO much power in the tongue. Proverbs 18:21 tells us "Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit-you choose." Wow, we have the ability to speak life or death into our own lives and into the lives of those around us with simply speaking words.

We have ALL heard the Bible story that speaks about Creation... God SAID!!! And whatever HE SAID happened. Haven't we been given the same power that was given to Jesus? John14:12-14 tells us "The person who trusts me will not only do what I'm doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I've been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I'll do it. That's how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I'll do." What an AWESOME promise!!!! God tells me all I have to do is ASK in HIS name and I can believe that HE will do it, let's also add in here (because there are some who will be deceived) AS LONG AS WHAT I ASK LINES UP WITH WHAT GOD WANTS THEN ALL I HAVE TO DO IS ASK AND I WILL GET!!! Because God is just that awesome!

So back to the beginning, God tells me that I have to be careful.... Be CAREFUL!!! Proverbs 4:23-24 tells us to "Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you."

Be careful little mouths what you say, because you have the ability to speak life and death into those around you. Be careful little eyes and ears, what you see and hear because what you see and hear shape your spiritual self. Be careful what you do and where you go, little hands and feet, because what you do and where you choose to go will also shape and define who you are. Be careful because God is watching.

"because the LORD’s eyes scan the whole world to strengthen those who are committed to him with all their hearts. Your foolishness means that you will have war on your hands from now on." (2 Chronicles 16:9 CEB)

God, I ask You to forgive me where I have failed. I ask that You show me and curses that I have allowed in my life and in the lives of my children and that You would help me remove these curses. I want only blessings from You for myself, my children and my grandchildren. I ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
